Apple Inc. doesn’t comment on rumors but we really wouldn’t mind a press release to dispel some of the deliberate Street distortion, spin and FUD. Okay Apple, issue just one PR and get it all done.
Press Release (not really from Apple):
Inspired by Pingdave:
Apple is not buying Yahoo!
CUPERTINO, California—February 4, 2008—
Steve Jobs: “While we value our long relationship with Yahoo and respect them and their management very much, in no way does purchasing Yahoo make sense for our ongoing business strategy. We also are not interested in Citigroup, Countrywide, Dell. Motorola or Palm. We don’t do subprime mortgages, and have no CDOs, SIVs, or other dodgy stuff on our balance sheet. I am not dying, and the SEC isn’t interested in pursuing any of our current employees about stock options. There aren’t any “missing” iPhones. Demand is so high, and the product is so hot people are willing to overpay for them on the “gray” market. I have never kicked a puppy, love Apple pie, and God Bless America.”
